A day at Nuenens College
Hi, I’m Joy Verweij, 14 years old, and I’m in the third year of the VMBO-T stream. What I really like about Nuenens College? That you can choose from different tracks here. I personally chose the arts track because I enjoy being creative.
Before coming to this school, I attended another school in Eindhoven. I switched schools due to certain circumstances, and it took some getting used to. Fortunately, my mentor, Ms. Bergmans, was a huge help during that time. Mr. Cober and Ms. Soetens are very kind, too. They always ask how I’m doing—even about things outside of school. That makes me feel good, because it really seems like they care about you.
My future plans
What do I want to be when I grow up? My top choice is working at a daycare center; I enjoy working with children. My second choice is organizing parties at various venues, such as birthdays or events. I sometimes practice this at home: whenever my little brother and sister want to put on a play, they always ask me to organize everything.
But before that happens, I first need to get my diploma from Nuenens College. I’m happy here, with great teachers who support me and friends I can be creative with!
