Stay cool and look out for one another!

Starting at a new school is a nerve-wracking experience for everyone. To help ease the students' nerves and give them a chance to get to know their new classmates, we organized an introductory afternoon yesterday.

That is why a weekly reading hour is scheduled, during which not only our students but also all school staff read a book of their own choosing. In this way, we turn reading into a shared activity, foster a love of reading, and build strong reading skills.

Selling handmade products, curated gift sets, and other lovely items—that is what 22 of our third-year students will be doing this coming weekend. And not just in any vacant retail space, but in the Shoeby store on Parkstraat.

During our excursion to Amsterdam, our students visited De Nederlandsche Bank and learned about Jewish history, culture, and traditions. It was a varied day filled with meaningful discoveries.

On Saturday, June 13, leading companies in the Brainport region will open their doors during the High Tech Discovery Route.

On our TikTok, you’ll find all kinds of fun and useful videos: from open days and outings to informative videos featuring our students and teachers.

The students were given a tour of the museum. They also got hands-on experience! They worked on various practical assignments—such as robotics and measuring rolling resistance—and received information on traffic safety.

Instructors Liesbeth, Marianne, and Anneke organize an interesting, athletic, or creative activity every Monday for the group of ladies from Plusminus—and, of course, for themselves! Staying active and social is the key to aging happily.

Learning by doing: our students in the Sports track and the third-year PE (LO2) students were given a challenging assignment. Instead of just devising a hypothetical sports day on paper, they organized the actual *Koningsspelen* (King's Games) for primary school pupils from Nuenen, working alongside our PE teachers.

Third-year students specializing in Economics & Entrepreneurship visited Summa Automotive – Truckacademy on Friday, March 20 and 27. The visit focused on career orientation, allowing students to discover which study programs and professions suit them.

Our new principal, Sasja van Lieshout, was interviewed last week by a journalist from Lokale Omroep Nuenen. Why did she choose Nuenens College? And how have her first few weeks gone?

This animal comes from the Australian desert. It grows up to 50 cm long. And it communicates using a collapsible ‘beard’ under its chin. Do you know which animals were born at our school on April 2nd?

Registration for the 2026–2027 school year took place over the past few days. It is wonderful that so many students have chosen our school! Naturally, we are very proud of that.

On Wednesday, April 1st, our students are organizing a fun bingo event at ProefLokaal.

Wat begon als een schoolopdracht, groeide uit tot een succesvolle solidariteitsmaaltijd. Leerlingen van het vak Dienstverlening & Producten toverden de school om tot een sfeervol restaurant. 

Docent Anneke Plompen is begin dit jaar gestart als techkwadraatmakelaar. Met vijf andere onderwijscollega’s uit de Brainportregio gaat ze scholen helpen om techniekonderwijs structureel een plek te geven. ‘Het gaat hierbij niet om technische vaardigheden, maar vooral om de mindset: creatief en ondernemend leren denken’, legt ze uit. ‘Dat sluit perfect aan bij de manier waarop we bij Nuenens College lesgeven.’

Onze derdejaarsleerlingen gingen op vrijdag 30 januari op snuffeldag. In totaal trokken ruim tweehonderd leerlingen eropuit om bij verschillende organisaties en bedrijven een kijkje achter de schermen te nemen. 

Loopbaanoriëntatie werkt nóg beter als je het in het echt kunt beleven. Daarom bezochten onze derdejaarsleerlingen met het profiel Economie & Ondernemen Summa Automotive in Helmond. 

Benieuwd hoe het er op Nuenens College aan toe gaat? Kinderen uit groep 7 en 8 kunnen op woensdag 11 februari minilessen volgen. Zo proeven ze sfeer, ontmoeten ze docenten en krijgen ze een indruk van verschillende vakken. 

Morgen, donderdag 8 januari, ziet eruit als een gewone winterse dag. Dat betekent dat we morgen de school weer openen en we de lessen weer hervatten. Om je de kans te geven rustig en voorzichtig naar school te komen starten alle lessen om 9.25 uur (lesuur 3). 

Benieuwd hoe het is om op de middelbare school te zitten? Tijdens onze open dag krijg je een goed beeld van hoe het er bij ons aan toegaat. Op zaterdag 24 januari 2026 ben je van harte welkom tussen 10.00 en 14.00 uur.
